The statue illustrated left by the 25 yr old Michelangelo is an example of classical male sculpture. Right is a modern drawn version of it - not an actual statue.
	Pictures here thumbnails. but can be viewed at a larger size. I have also taken a liberty I guess by making comments on them. This could be a little unfair, since I do not know exactly where they were in their training regimes. By this I mean you "bulk up", then "cut" to reveal the structure you have worked so hard to develop. Note that the hands and head are slightly larger in proportion. Link to reason nla.

The odd tan effect above was for the show!
Adam was not a serious bodybuilder at the time of the pic, but was being marketed on his clearly well defined torso. He claimed it was mainly genetic! Perhaps the rugby training helped?

	Competition Posing. The posed pictures are designed to show off particular sets of muscles. We all do the "double bicep" when asked to show a muscle! Jeremy is posing to show arms, chest and legs, but not his abdominal area. Sergei in both shots has almost all muscle groups flexed to show his physique. In the case of the legs, the left shows the front, the right the rear muscle groups.

I do not consider the human body in any way obscene, unless the images are overtly "sexual" in type. The sites linked from this page reflect that opinion. When you are bodybuilding or improving your body tone, the legs are included naturally. Many teen bodybuilder pics concentrate on the arms and torso, which is wrong. I guess the fear is to show off the crotch region and to be afraid of the viewer taking a wrong impression. After all, that's where the natural factors contributing towards your body type come from! I also suspect a few steroid users may be shy of showing that area too! See here for pics and comment on steroid use! The linked Yahoo! Bodybuilding group included some originally naturist pics, but not now. I just set up a full Naturist Style Group as they also hold fitness and bodybuilder contests without any posing costumes. This needs an ADULT Yahoo! account for access. Be advised that determined younger persons can get round this and other limitations but educational filters SHOULD block all Yahoo! (and Google) adult groups.
