The pic to the left is a Michelangelo style pose but is NOT Andy

This page is the new member page for Andy. Use the e.mail link left to submit questions to this site, answers, photos etc. Andy tells me he has progressed quite a bit and we will SEE the results soon! Can you suggests which poses he should do for us?

Andy is about 15. He had been working out for roughly a year at the time we set up the page.

How and why I started.

 I have done training

Jeremy at 14, not Andy. Jeremy was a lot leaner, or more "cut" as you can see.

The page is a combined effort. The training suggestions below relate to teens up to 15 or so, or initially ANY teen new to training. In other words don't run until you can walk!

The pages most useful to you are the beginner article, and the one on abs, since that is the area you want to work on first. The abs are very important for posture and for general body form for twists and turns. Bear in mind that there are alternative exercises there. You are NOT expected to do all of them! Soccer players need strong upper and inner leg muscles too. It is useful to make up an inclined board too. See Routines page too.

A most solid looking arm here! Andy does three sets of push - ups until failure, with a 2 min break between sets. Those affect pecs and triceps.

Sergey Litvinov (at 19)

Remember that Sergei (19 in the pic) has been training seriously since early teens. You can't get a solid bod like his overnight. Check also the younger Alexey Wolf for a closer comparison.

Ummm Well that looks like a six pack!

Andy has a pull-up bar to work on. He does 3 sets of "crunches" until failure, "till I feel the burn" and also on the bar is doing 3 sets of pull-ups and reverse pullups (that's with overhand and underhand grip) Overhand - Lats, Underhand - biceps. In each case he has a 2 min break.

He does these exercises every other day.

Comment

The pic shows that Andy is quite light in the shoulder area, but the lighting doesn't help!

My training history.

Good looking shot here! Andy has already built strong arms, and with exercises for the shoulders and back he should soon broaden out. He's already very keen on sorting out his abs as well! Hence the nickname!

This hints at why he calls himself sixpackdog perhaps. He has, indeed got definition in the Abdominal area, not bad at all for 14 and after only 6 months too at the time taken! This is one pose he might repeat for us shortly.

Bigger or simply better toned?

The use of weights can have these two effects.
