This page includes Abdominal exercises. This muscle group can be almost an obsession! Current sedentary lifestyle and the beer or lager consumption rate tend to adversely affect the Abs! The male is also predisposed to add fat in this area too! Adam Rickitt had a phenomenal "six pack" which even has a club of worshippers! Click the pic of Adam below for a link to it! |

Note:- It is better to have hands crossed on your chest, not "levering" the back of your head. |

There is a page here already on abs (Rockie) hence the limited list here. |

Flat Crunches. You can hook your feet under a heavy item of furniture, or make an incline board with a belt loop at one end. Use stout blockboard and pad it with foam |

Inclined or angled crunches are much harder, but you get a similar effect if you hold a weight plate on your chest. The incline board is used here too. |

Leg Raises. Here Denis has his weight supported by the frame. The exercise can be varied by trying to raise the straight legs to as near 90 degrees (that is parallel to the floor)! or raising the legs as close to the stomach as possible by bending the knees. The effort in the former is greater! Denis was 13 at the time of the pic and has gained a lot since then! |
It is even possible to wear "iron boots" and REALLY make it hard! A colleague, Martin is about to work on gaining a six pack (solid but flat at present) - he may share his progress with members. Any others who wish to add advice etc, feel free to get in touch. |

This is a detailed full page on the midsection, with many tips from Rockie himself. Some of these are rigorous! |

Simon to the left has a great set of abs and powerful laterals too. both these areas are prone to fat deposition as you age. |
